Stainsby Grange is dedicated to providing a high standard of horse riding instruction for adults and children.
We offer group horse riding for all levels, semi-private, or private one to one tuition.
Stainsby Grange provide horses and ponies that are as safe as possible while maintaining an enjoyable and fun attitude to riding and learning equestrianism at all levels.
Although we take all reasonable precautions for your safety, you must accept that riding horses is a risk sport.
Your first lesson at Stainsby Grange will involve completing a client registration form and induction notice which will tell us what your experience with horses is and also any medical conditions that we need to know about (this may affect the horse we put you on).
Cost per 1 hour group lesson £20 – Max 6 per group
Half hour group lessons £12 – Max 5 per group
Half hour private lessons £25
Semi Private lessons £15 each
Available for 4 – 6 years old £10 per child
Walks include a 15 minute journey around Stainsby Grange and a mini lesson – parent participation needed. Maximum 3 at a time
Why not treat your child to a pony party at Stainsby Grange:-
6 – 8 children to include half hour fun games lesson and half hour grooming session. Then to the party room for YOUR OWN pony party food. (not including birthday cake)

Equipment you need to ride a horse
Hat (available to hire 50p) Should be to the latest standard (currently BSEN1384 or PAS015)
Should be well fitting and in good repair. Strong shoes with a small heel will do but it is advisable to buy jodhpur boots or long riding boots as soon as you are riding on a regular basis. Trainers, muckers or wellies are unsafe to ride in.
Make riding more comfortable but can easily be replaced with trousers so long as they are not too loose or restrictive in any way
Necessary in cold weather when worn it must be fastened, loose flapping coats and scarves can be frightening to your horse.
